Introducing and promoting the principles of WaSH in the Dawasamu district.
There are 5 main focuses in this expedition:
We focus on empowering communities by actively engaging important issues involved with the factors that inform their quality of life such as access to fresh water, access to education and food security.
Our goal is to assist villagers in adapting their livelihoods in response to the changing pressures on traditional life due to both environmental and social change.
The goals and priorities of this expedition are discussed and determined in collaboration with the local communities of the Dawasamu district.
Introducing and promoting the principles of WaSH in the Dawasamu district.
Creating alternative livelihood projects that can women earn an income within the village
Improving English skills and implementing holistic educational techniques
Our base is located in the bustling village of Silana, in the district of Dawasamu.
Boasting breath taking sunset views and swaying palm trees, we have Tova Peak (one of the highest mountains in Viti Levu) on the one side and the beach on the other. We are also just a short boat ride away from the famous Moon Reef which has a resident pod of spinner dolphins.
Project work generally conducted from 8 a.m Monday to Friday, giving time off on the weekends to relax and explore the area.

We also now include cultural/local experiences. These experiences will take place once every 4 weeks.

Volunteers stay in mixed gender dormitory style accommodation with shared toilets and a communal kitchen. There is mobile reception and limited electricity.
Laundry can either be done by hand or we offer a laundry service which costs around $15 FJD per bag.
All base duties and chores are shared by all volunteers including cooking and cleaning for the group. When everyone works together, it gets done quickly and effectively. Team work makes the dream work!
